Leakey's Bookshop

Church St, Inverness IV1 1EY, UK – 01463 239947

This bookshop is in such an incredible building and shocks you as soon as you work in just due to the sheer volume of books. They have books of every genre, and all of their books are in pristine condition. I bought myself 3 Charles Darwin books, all of which were in almost perfect condition. I would definitely return and encourage anyone in the area to visit!

Leakey's Bookshop is definitely an experience. I love the atmosphere in here. I would recommend Leakey's as a sightseeing spot and for buying prints or gifts. I wouldn't come here in search of some reading though, the prices are pretty high and most books are more interesting in their material value than their textual content. As an avid reader, I would definitely visit Leakey's again, but not in search of my next favourite book, but rather for that one piece of my gorgeous classics collection that is missing. I'm rating 3 stars because I was disappointed to leave having bought no books during my visit.

Waterstones

69, Eastgate Shopping Centre, Inverness IV2 3PR, UK – 01463 233500

Staff knowledgeable, friendly and keen to help. Found good wild flower book and ordered 'baby' books.

Great bookstore. If you’re from the states, I would compare it to a small Barnes & Nobles.

CLC Bookshops, Inverness

23 Castle St, Inverness IV2 3EP, UK – 01463 238876

A decent resource but books are laid out confusingly. Also prominently features books by some big names with questionable theological positions.
